Great weather, beautiful and not overly crowded beaches and wonderful local community make Jacksonville Beach one of the best kept secrets in all of Florida. And many of the people who moved to Jacksonville Beach area whether it was from another state or just another area in Jacksonville itself never leave. But is it affordable? This is a relative question depending on where you are from and what you consider affordable, but yes, if you want to be in the area you can do so on a reasonable budget. For those not on a budget, you can find some incredible homes and get a lot for your money when compared to other beach front areas in Florida.
Keep in mind, when I refer to Jacksonville Beach, I’m including three different areas. Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach. Currently, as of 05/15/2014, there are 215 single family detached and attached homes on the market. Price range from $99,900 to $3,500,000. You can even find affordable new construction as low as $199,950 though the average range is $400,000 and up. The beach front homes market has made a considerable turn around. You could find some really good deals on the beach say one to four years ago, but if you want to see beautiful sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean you are going to pay over a $1,000,000.
Buying a home can be a challenging process so make sure you are using a Real Estate Agent who knows his/her market and is very familiar with the area. And be sure to look out for Justin Timmons with The Get Smart Team June 29th 8:30 pm on HGTV’s hit show Beachfront Bargain Hunt.
